What is the best stategy you can use to get really good electronic music production? Once you have produced your beats online using software like Sonic Producer you need to think about how you are going to produce it, pehaps edit it so that others can hear the great sounds you are producing. One of the easiest ways these days to start the process is to use mp3. From Sonic Producer and most other online beat making software you can export to your computer in the mp3 format. You can then use a free software like Audacity It is really useful for post production work like equalization and compression. Audacity works on any platform so you will have no issues.
Of course if you sre really clever you could download each track as an individual mp3 then load each track into Audacity to give yourself much more control and get a much more professional sound.
Creating Beats Online

Today we have a great video to help you creating beats online. This is my favorite Sonic Producer software but it gives some great principles that you can apply when creating beats online with any software. The important thing is that you keep creating beats online as much as you can either with online beatmaking software or your own computer based beat software.

Drum Machine Software
Posted by Beat Making Software in Online Drum Machines on September 25, 2009
So what do I think is the best piece of drum machine software that you can buy? Well believe it or not a digital metronome – What the hell is that I hear you say! Well its a cheap piece of kit about the size of a credit card that will tap out the beats for you and if used right will help you create the online beats that you want. It almost becomes your own little Drum machine at a fraction of the price.
So what can a piece of drum machine software like this do?
Set it on quarter notes when you want to get down for Funk, Latin, or Rock
Get it beating out the beat on 2 and 4 to get the beat in the way a drummer hits the snare or hi-hat for Swing or “Back-beat” rhythms.
Set the beat on “1 and 3″ for Hip Hop or Reggae
Cool hey.
The other reason to get one is you can set your tempo – how many beats per minute – up exactly as you want when you are planning your online beat loop to get it in going your head. Also you can use it when you have made your loop to ensure it is exactly the tempo you want. Once you have one you will wonder how you ever managed without in your efforts to make online beats. This is one cool piece of drum machine software. get one at your local music store or search online. You can even get an app for your iPhone that is an beat maker metronome for you.

Hottest Hip Hop Beats
Posted by Beat Making Software in Beats, Hiphop Beats on September 24, 2009
If you want some of the httest hottest hip hop beats around and you ahve your own computer software that you want to add them to I always go to 365.com. He has an incredible array of sounds which are added to each week all for a once time fee of just $29.99.

However, down to the groove. So you want to make some hot hip hot beats?
Hip Hop originated from people expressing their need to escape the social injustess of their lives. They did this through breakdancing, graffitti, DJing and rapping. But what shouold you do to make a hot hip hop beat?
Firstly Listen – Listen to the Hip Hop artists you like. Now really listen. get behind the sound and try and work out what is going on in there in each sound. What is the drum loop doing, what is the bass doing. What kinds of sounds are being used in the rest of the song. What is the tempo of the hip hop beat you like. Count it out 1 and 2 and 3 etc – Is real slow at 60 betas per second – medium at 90 beats persecond or real fast at 120 beats per second?
Now you can begin to get down to your hip hop beat. Yo make it hot – PLAN. Dont just dive rivht in there – Think first. Decide what instuments you want – remember less is more.Decide on your tempo, hear it in your head first.
Use great loops and software – I recomend Sonic Prodcucer because I use it myself but if you have software already you can find more beats at 365.
When you have it al there use compression on it – this is the art of getting attack and decay on your loops to get them sounding great through a loudspeaker. Play around with it and get it working for you. If you ahve never heard about it before you have some homework! – get on line and get searching!!

Make Instrumental Beats
Posted by Beat Making Software in Make Beats Online on September 23, 2009
When you make instrumental beats on the computer you do do need software. The video below shows a gansta rap being put together in Fruity Loops. Watch particularly the way the the guy makes the instrumental beats show up on the screen. Whilst this is reasonably advanced stuff anybody can have a go and all you is inspiration. I personally use Sonic Producer for my music which is cheap and online and produces some great sounds.

Top Music Production Schools

10 Top Questions You should ask!!
So you are ready to go to a top music production school? What should you be looking for – what are the criteria that should guide you to know that you have found the right place. For me there are several questions I would always wanting to be asking regarding a music school where I was going to be spending a lot of time and that is going to be the basis of my career.
- Who has been to the school recently that is making it that you can get a recommendation from – not necessarily really famous people but people who now have jobs in the music industry having attened the school.
- Look carefully at the cost – is it all in or are there extras that you are going to have to pay for – this can come as a nasty shock if you are a tight budget.
- Who are the teachers – what real live industry experience have they had – its very easy to sit back in a classroom with theory.
- Are their teachers who teach in your preferred style – if you are into Hip Hop beats or Dance Beats heavily make sure there are somje experts on the staff.
- What are they going to teach you in the first semester? If this is stuff that you already know you are going to be bored – worth lookiing for something more challenging.
- Is a tour of the school offered? Who gives the tour? Can you speak to the students without the staff around?
- What percentage of your students have jobs in the music industry within 2 years of graduating? If they dont know dont touch them – they are not interested in their students after graduation.
- What visiting musicians, producers etc come to give lessons, master classes, tutorials etc.
- How many people in class? Smaller is better but also probably more expensive.
- What help is given to students post graduation with getting into the music industry? Are there internships available during the course? Which production companies do they have good contact with?
Hope that helps you – this applies even more if you are doing an internet course of some kind that is expensive – dont part with the bread until you have shopped around and are sure you are getting a good deal!

Hot Hip Hop Beats
Posted by Beat Making Software in Beats, Hiphop Beats on August 26, 2009
When making hot hip hop beats the drum beat is only as good as the samples on which it is based. So do make sure you have some good samples.
Here is a tutorial made for FL Studio 8 but having said that if you understand the theory you can use any sequencer at all.
Enjoy,

Make My Own Hip Hop Beats
Posted by Beat Making Software in Hiphop Beats on August 17, 2009
Of course you can make my own hip hop beats. All you need is some beat making software for your computer and you are away…. and of course a little imagination!! So where to start to get that groove going that is going to be exciting and want to make people to get up and jump on the dance floor? You can do it for free – see a couple of my previous posts this week and see some of the sites to collect stuff. However for me – right today – the premium place to start is at Sonic Producer. This is the softwarre I use and at only $29.95 its a snip for what you get. Its all on line and you can export to mp3 to play in iTunes or another player.
Heres a demo from YouTube to show what I mean:
